The Hydra suite at the University of Liverpool is the Academic Reasearch Hub and the first Hydra Suite to be set up outside of the emergency services. The suite was originally commissioned in June 2005 and upgraded in May 2013. It features 3 syndicates, a control room and a main plenary, all located at the School of Psychology.
It has played host to a number of local as well as international delegations of emergency services, as well as partner agencies, for both training and research exercises.
Similarly, the suite is also used to carry out research into the subtler effects around exercise immersion and fidelity, identifying key factors relating to training efficacy and knowledge transfer.
