Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Hydra suite is situated over 2 floors consisting of a control room, four syndicate rooms, plenary and refreshment area. Within the basement there is also a Control Unit simulator which is fully linked to the rest of the facility. The suite operates from an operational Fire Station in Marlow, also housing the Incident Command Team and Protection department for the south of the County. The site was constructed in 2004 and is purpose-built with excellent road links to the Thames Valley and South East.
The Hydra suite has been utilised recently for training events such as multi agency major incident management, business continuity training, operational scenario exercises and senior management training and has attracted professionals from other services such as Police, Ambulance, Emergency Planning, RAF, Public Health England and members of Crowded Places Board for Milton Keynes.
