MACIE - Multi-Agency Child Investigation Exercise

Aim: To enrich and develop the critical decision making skills of operational managers as individuals and, in collaboration, integrate new guidance for joint training with partner agencies.

This is a two day immersive exercise designed to bring together professionals from Social Care, Education, Police and Health Care at senior manager level, in line with the recommendations form the Laming and Bichard inquiries. These managers are supported in the exercise environment by subject matter experts and senior practitioners from areas such as paediatrics, safeguarding children organisations, the crown prosecution service and forensic services. They will debate the role, language and behaviours of the various agencies with a view to developing a 'common language' and a consistency of best practice, and will examine how to increase the confidence of staff and managers to challenge partner professionals appropriately.
