Hydra Operator Training

To support those people who design, develop and operate Hydra simulation systems, we offer a Hydra Operator Training course which normally runs over 2 to 3 days.  This is delivered through either the Hydra Foundation or via the College of Policing.  The course is aimed at those people who have a good understanding of technology concepts, understand how small local area networks are constructed and function, along with being confortable in using the Microsoft Office suite of programs at a sufficient level.

This course develops the skills that will be required by staff who will:

  • Build a Hydra exercise within the Hydra system
  • Operate the Hydra Communications and Events computers
  • Run a Hydra exercise
  • Carry out basic trouble shooting of the Hydra system

Aim:

To provide delegates with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to be able to operate and support the Hydra system.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the course, successful delegates will be able to:

  1. Describe the purpose of the Hydra system
  2. List the components of the Hydra system
  3. Explain the functions of the Hydra programs and files
  4. Identify Hydra compatible appropriate multimedia
  5. Create an exercise running grid
  6. Prepare the Hydra system prior to running an exercise
  7. Solve problems that may occur when within the Hydra system
  8. Run a Hydra exercise in the Hydra System
