Work has focused on identifying methods for improving eye witness memory recall through the use of cognitive interviewing. Eye witness and memory recall research has recently demonstrated success through key theoretical publications in high impact journals. This work is being expanded to include examination of the impact of age on reliability of eye witness testimony and juror decision making. The group has also secured funding from the US Government’s High Value Detainee Interrogation Group (which includes FBI, CIA and Department of Defense) for research into the benefit of rapport-based interviewing strategies. This has resulted in publication in the flagship Psychology, Public Policy and the Law journal with a further four papers ready for submission. This area of research will be developed through widening the application of the research on rapport to consider military and clinical contexts..
